Maybelline EyeStudio Gel Liner | Review + Swatches.

Gel liner is something I've been wanting to try for quite some time. I tend to use liquid liners mostly, I like the crisp, sharp line it creates but I wanted something else for doing smoky eyes and softer lines. This liner is perfect for that, it's the EyeStudio Gel Liner by Maybelline (£4.99). I got it in Black Chrome, it's black with tiny flecks of glitter, it's so pretty.
I was a bit annoyed when I opened the box it came in because as you will see in the photo below the bristles of the brush are bent out of shape. Boo! I'm not sure I like the brush very much though, an angled brush would be much better.

The Good.

Lovely glittery shimmeryness.
Great pigmentation.
Nice and opaque.
Very blendable.
Nice Packaging.

The Bad.

Damaged brush (not really their fault).
Brush isn't angled so it makes for awkward application.
Small amount of product (not sure exactly how much, it doesn't say on the packaging).

Overall I'm happy with my first gel liner experience although I'm not completely sold on it. Maybe if I tried one by MAC or Bobbi Brown I'd like it more. Who knows, I know expensive doesn't necessarily mean better though.

  1. This is my favorite gel liner ever! Just as good as Bobbi Brown. I agree the brush is disappointing but I use my own anyway. Great post!
