It did take me a while to get around to it because admittedly I'm very shy and awkward in these situations. My boyfriend and I went up to the new Boots at the Kingsway retail park, which was much quieter and the lady from the No7 counter actually approached me. That made it much easier.
So basically she wiped off my existing foundation, and used the little device to take a photo of my skin on both sides of my face. It turns out it came up with a warning saying my skin couldn't be matched (my boyfriend found this hilarious). I wasn't all that surprised really, I realise how pale I am. She did manage to get a reading from the left side of my face, it was for the lightest shade they have, Calico. This was then applied to my cheeks on either side and she blended it in, but it was still far too orange for my skin tone. After a couple more tries she suggested their Intelligent Colour Foundation instead. This worked much better, it's more sheer and comes in the shade Extra Light. Which she informed me was a new addition to the range.

As you can see from the before and after photographs there's not a huge change, but my skin tone looks a little more evened out and it makes it look a little smoother. You can't quite see from those photos, but trust me it does! In the swatches you can see it has an almost mousse like texture. It feels like a primer when you're applying it, it's so velvety smooth, I love it! It works really well on top of primer too, and if you want more coverage just use a concealer. I would say it takes a lot of blending because a little goes a long way with this.
Did you have a fun time on Halloween?! We had fun with our costumes. I was Beetlejuice and Kyle was Zombie Tommy Cooper.

I have the palest skin also! I might try that No7 one you described. I found that MaxFactor Long Lasting Performance foundation in their palest shade, 100 fair, was a good choice for me. If you want to spend more money then try Nars Sheer Tint in Siberia or Bobbi Brown in Alabaster! Hope this helps!
ReplyDeleteIt's really great if you're looking for a lightweight foundation. I may have to try the MaxFactor one, I tend to shop in Boots and Superdrug for make-up so no doubt I'll find it there. When I'm looking to splash out a bit I'd like to try Nars, I don't have anything from there yet. Thank you!
