I'll start off with the packaging as that seems the logical place to begin. Topshops entire make-up range is packaged beautifully, it's something a bit different when it comes to high street make-up. It stands out from the rest of my make-up collection, in a good way! I love the hand drawn quality of the designs and I like the simple colour palette - usually black and white. This highlighter is my first purchase from this make-up range, I've had my eye on a few lipsticks for a while but I cannot justify it as I already have so many!
This compact is white with little stars on it, which I think is adorable. The only downside is that it doesn't have a mirror in it, that doesn't bother me too much but I think it may bother some folk. It is sturdy and appealing to the eye, I guess those are the two main criteria for packaging.
There is another highlighter called Sunbeam but I think it's far too
gold for my skin tone. It would look much nicer on darker skin tones.
Crescent Moon is a peachy-pearly-golden (use all the words!) highlighter
that translates beautifully onto the skin. It's not too obvious but it
is buildable. I don't tend to like highlighters that are too white as I
find they look unnatural so this one is perfect as it has those hints of
peach. It's texture is so buttery soft and it's very pigmented, which
is brilliant. You get 6.5g worth of product too, for only a tenner, you
can't go wrong. I can't recommend this enough, I love it!
The Good.
Price (£10).
Pigmentation.
Lovely, sturdy packaging.
Lots of product.
Soft texture.
Minimal fall out.
Natural finish + beautiful colour.
Availability.
The Bad.
Ehhh...
Literally no bad points this time. I've been very lucky with my recent purchases, or very well informed. I really love the blogging community, all these reviews are so helpful and I don't feel like I'm blindly buying make-up any more. So thanks to everyone who has helped me make these decisions and helped me save money! I can only hope I've done the same for someone, who knows.
What do you think, does this highlighter look like something you'd like to use? Any other recommendations for highlighters?
I've been after the perfect powder highlighter for ages! The creamy ones don't blend as well as they could at times, think a trip to Topshop is in order!

Benefit High Beam is a great highlighter! It applies great to the skin!
ReplyDeleteGreat review by the way :)

I do really like High Beam too, it has that really pretty pink tone to it. It's just the price that puts me off, I just have a tiny wee sample pot of it!
DeleteThanks :)

Looks gorgeous! I've been loving using highlight to give sheen to my face. I actually prefer powder highlight to something like high beam because i don't like smudging it in with my fingers.
ReplyDeleteNice review! Wanna follow each other?

This is definitely the best powder one I've tried! I know what you mean about high beam and liquid highlighters.
DeleteI'm on my phone just now but I'll check out your blog when I get home! :)
