MUA Blusher in Bubble Gum | Review + Swatches.

It's been a while! Time to catch up on some reviewing and some reading too. I must say I've kept up with a few of my favourite blogs, but it's not the same.

This is a product I bought a long time ago. MUA has been a firm favourite since Superdrug launched it back in around 2010. So affordable, most items are only £1 and they are surprisingly good quality. Their blushers are my favourite. I love that you can try out a different shade for only £1 and it doesn't matter if it doesn't suit you because it was only a pound and you can always pass it on to a friend of family member. Their lipsticks are also amazing for only £1.
Needless to say I was excited when they released some new blushers. This is one of the shades I bought, Bubble Gum.

ELF HD Blusher in Diva | Review + Swatches.

ELF have always been one of my favourite brands for cheap and cheerful make up products. I also like that they have their bargain products, and there is also the studio range which is slightly more pricey (but still very decent) and a bit better quality so there is a huge range of products to choose from.

In my last haul I bought one of their HD Blushers from the studio range and costs only £3.75, told you the prices were still very decent! The shade I bought is called Diva. This was the shade I chose as most of the others were sold out, but it's still a gorgeous colour. On the website the only one that is still in stock is Encore, this shows how popular these blushers are.

On to the actual product! It comes in a cute little 10ml plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. This blusher is so pigmentent it's insane, a little goes a long long way! You have to be really careful when dispensing it as you only need the tiniest amount. I tend to use my finger to apply it but a stippling brush would work well too.
I love this blusher because I have dry skin and it doesn't pick up on my dry patches as much as most powder blushers do.

FOTD | Simple.

Time for a wee FOTD post, not done one of these in quite some time. This was from a few weeks ago, you may notice that I used the first photo as my new blog icon.

Accessorize Baked Merged Blusher in Diva | Review + Swatches.

Good evening! It's time for yet another review, starting to feel like I'm getting nowhere with them. Give me strength...
Today's review is on a blusher I bought in Superdrug, it's by Accessorize and it's called Diva (£3.99, I think). It's a merged baked blusher, which is something I'd never tried before. I've always thought they are very pretty!

This shade is mainly made up of pink and peach swirls with a bit of lilac thrown in there. It's rather pearly and shimmery, which I don't tend to go for (pearly anyway). Super pretty to look at!

It's quite toned down which I like, always nice to get a subtle glow going. You can build it up a little if you like, but overall I'm disappointed by the pigmentation. I had my doubts when I first saw Accessorize had a make-up range. I'm not sure on the packaging either, it feels a bit cheap. These two problems somewhat confirm my suspicions about this brand. What do you think?

Denman Tangle Tamer Hairbrush | Review.

Something a little different today, I'm going to review my new hairbrush! Originally I was going to buy one of the Tangle Teezers, but I didn't know how comfortable it would be to use being left handed. Instead I picked up the Tangle Tamer by Denman.
My gran has used Denman hairbrushes for as long as I can remember so I've always been familiar with the brand.
This brush is actually for children as it points out on the back of the outer packaging. I only noticed this once I'd bought it, not that it would have put me off however. I hate brushing my hair and anything that makes it easier is a huge bonus, whether it's meant for kids or not haha!

It's really easy to use, which sounds silly, but it is! I don't normally like pink all that much but it's alright. I like the font used on the back, that's probably what took my fancy the most about this hairbrush, funnily enough.
It looks really 70s!

I'd say it works really well, and it does what it claims. My hair is quite thick and I think it would work even better on people with thinner hair, or just a normal amount of hair!

"With special, super-soft bristles to gently tame the tangles."

The bristles are thin and are two different lengths which I'm guessing helps with the tugs. They aren't stiff, but still don't bend too easily. It does say super-soft, but I wouldn't say they are soft to the point that they are useless. Man, I'm bad at explaining things.
On to the photos now.

MUA Blush Pefection in Bittersweet | Review + Swatches.

Before I start I wanted to say that this is my 100th post! Woo. :)

The MUA cream blushers are something I've been wanting to try for weeks, if not months. Last week I finally found the shade I wanted, after it being constantly out of stock. This particular shade is called Bittersweet and it cost me £2. MUA is always such a bargain!

Bittersweet is only my second foray into cream blushers, my first being the Revlon Photoready blusher in the shade Flushed - featured here. I've worn this MUA blusher a couple of times now and I must say I really like it. I wouldn't go as far as love, but it's more than decent, especially for the price.

B. Lipstick + Eyeshadow | Review + Swatches.

At the end of January I was perusing the aisles of Superdrug and I noticed there was a new addition to the make up aisle. It had just launched that very day and the brand is called B. No doubt you'll have seen the range by now.
I had a field day, I was swatching away for a good 10 minutes. It was fantastic because all the testers were brand new, how exciting! I was the first person to swatch most of the lipsticks and eyeshadows. There was an introductory offer on where there was £2 off all the products. I decided to pick up two products, I must say I was very tempted by many more things, I refrained!

The first item I bought was a Rich Intense Colour lipstick (of course) in the colour Eton Mess - £7.99 (I bought it for £5.99) It took me a really long time to decide which one I like most, they are all lovely! Out of the whole range I was most impressed by their lipsticks.
I think it was the name that made my mind up, Eton Mess is one of my favourite desserts.

FOTD | Famous Palette, Rimmel + B.

You know when you think you're trying something new and it ends up being exactly the way you normally do it? Maybe it's just me, but I thought I was trying something a little different with my eye make up here but it just looks like everything else I've ever posted! So I've promised myself, and now you, that I'll be going out of my comfort zone and pushing for something a bit different this week! I must be stuck in a rut, I've got the hang of this kind of eye, but I must move on!
Please excuse the slightly dopey expressions as per usual.

MAC Venomous Villains - Bite of an Apple Blusher | Review.

This is a blusher I've had for a few months now, as usual I've just been lazy with my reviews! I picked this up brand new from ebay for £18. Probably a little more than I was willing to pay but it's my first MAC blusher and I absolutely adore the packaging. I was a little late in hearing about this collection (it came out in 2010 I believe) and I was really disappointed, I'd seen lots of these products in make-up collection videos on YouTube and I really wanted some for myself.
This blusher is called Bite of an Apple and it features the Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. I would have loved to get most of the Maleficent collection, I think it had the most beautiful colours and packaging. The nail polishes look especially stunning! Maybe I'll hunt them down sometime.

Mini Primark Haul.

More lip products to talk about today! This time they are from Primark, as the title would suggest. I was pretty intrigued when they started doing beauty products a year or so ago. I use their sensitive 4in1 wipes, they claim to cleanse, tone, moisturise and remove make-up all at once. They do the job, and have never irritated my skin so I can't complain. A while back I bought one of their lip stains and a lip stick. I wanted to try out a different colour from what I was used to, they were both a bubblegum pink shade. The lip stain was much better quality than the lipstick which wasn't very pigmented.

This time I bought two lipsticks and another lip stain in a raspberry pink colour. They have changed their packaging slightly. I must say I'm not really a fan of leopard print so I don't like their lipstick packaging all that much. Who can complain for £1 each!?

The lipsticks aren't very pigmented, as I kind of expected, but they are nice for when I just want a hint of colour. They are very smooth and are easy to apply. So if you like a sheer lip these are for you.

Kate Moss for Rimmel Lipstick Reviews.

I'm very excited to say that I've bought another two lipsticks from the Kate Moss Rimmel matte collection! The first one I bought is mentioned in my Favourite Matte Lipsticks post (shade 111). I originally wanted shade 107 when I was looking at them the first time but it was sold out. I then found out my mum had it and she let me try it out. I fell even deeper in love with it. When I noticed Superdrug had restocked it I couldn't help myself. I also wanted to try a pinky/nude shade so I also picked up 101. Such a bargain at £5.49 each!

Favourite Matte Lipsticks.

As you may have noticed by now I absolutely love matte lipsticks. I don't think that I suit shimmery lips, a bit of sheen at night is enough for me.

These are some of my favourite matte lip colours (minus MACs Russian Red, which will have it's own post soon).

Please excuse the grody state of the packaging!

First one is by e.l.f, it was mentioned it in my haul a couple of weeks ago. It's a lip pencil in the colour Tea Rose and it cost £3.75. It's a lovely cool pink colour, something that is a little odd for me, but this is pretty much the only thing I wear other than red. I do find it to be a little more drying than the other two I'll be writing about, but it is beautifully opaque.

The next one is from the Kate Moss for Rimmel matte collection. It is in shade 111 - Kiss of Life. I was actually looking for shade 107 when I was looking at them as I wanted to try something a little darker for Autumn, but it was sold out. So I went for yet another red! I'm very glad I did, it's a beautiful colour which I have worn several times. It's a slightly deeper red than a classic red, so it's different from anything I already have. Bonus points for it being matte! This is a long lasting colour and it's not too drying on my already dry lips.
I will be keeping an eye out for 107 though as my mum has it and she loves it! These cost only £5.49.

Lastly, this is my absolute favourite, it's Really Red by Revlon. Revlon is a brand that I had never really paid much attention to before this year. The first thing I bought was their Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie, I was looking to try something a little different and I was pleasantly surprised. From then on I kept an eye on the stand and tried a few different things out. I also saw many blog posts and review raving about their lipsticks so I thought it was time to try one. I bought this about a month ago from eBay, for £5.99.

L-R: Tea Rose, Really Red and Kiss of Life (111).

Do you like matte lipsticks? Any suggestions?
